Ok guys this is the first release of Breezer after few years (2017 to be precise). Let me tell you a little about Breezer when he was born, when he go commercial and why he sleeps for few years.
The beggining
So Breezer was born in 2010, when I discover (to my surprise) that on Windows there was no sample library manager, of any kind, I was really disappointed so (since I'm a Windows developer) I start to develop what then became Breezer.
At first was just a small utility for me but when some friends see it they stop me and said you should make it a product. They were my first beta testers and then customers.
Everything goes fine for few years, then in 2016 my company grows so fast that the time was too limited to give the appropriate support and continue the development. Also many clones starts to appear (mostly a copy & paste of Breezer) creating an unhealthy environment with a lot of talking on forums, blogs etc.
So I decided to halt its commercialization and development.
Rebirth in 2021
Now I decided to release for free Breezer and invest on it, now I have some help from a good friend plus I hope that more and more people can use it and give us feedbacks and suggestions. We really need your help.
We know that there is still some areas where Breezer needs to be improved:
Performance: here there is room for some improvements. In the coming weeks I will invest and hire a profiler wizard that can spot the weakness of the current architecture.
User interface: this is always a work in progress. We are at a good stage as you can see, but there still room for improvements.
Bugfix: Since was a commercial product a lot was done in the past years so is not a top priority, but I suspect that in some configurations there could be some problems.
What was done so far
In the past few weeks I fixed some UI issues, improved the interface, added more tooltips and streamlined the UI in general. Also I fixed some bugs and I implement some improvements for the performances. I also write a short quick start guide to help newcomers to get up to speed.
So if you want you can join us and let's make the best sample/audio library manager for Windows! Want to write some documentation? Make a video? Give some feedback? Or just use Breezer in your workflow? Let's do it!
Thanks!
Umberto
P.S. I have other ideas in my mind but for now I keep those ideas for me.
